Scientists refer to alkaline, ionized water as ‘negative’ water, reduced water, or electrolyzed reduced water (ERW) because of the water’s negative electrical charge, measured in mill volts.

Acidic, ionized water is called oxidizing water or electrolyzed oxidizing water (EOW) because of it’s positive electrical charge.
